Who we are

At Little Bridges Advocacy, we believe that families thrive when they feel supported, informed, and empowered in their child’s learning journey. Our work is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the chance to grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy—and that parents deserve a trusted partner by their side.

About Me

My name is MaryKate Laffin, M.Ed., and I bring over six years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and Early Childhood School Director. In those roles, I had the privilege of supporting young learners and their families during some of the most formative years of their lives. I also spent countless hours in IEP meetings and parent conferences, where I saw just how overwhelming the process could feel. Too often, parents were left without the tools or guidance they needed. That experience inspired me to create Little Bridges Advocacy: a space where families feel seen, supported, and equipped to navigate their child’s educational path.

Our Mission

At Little Bridges Advocacy, our mission is to empower families with the tools, confidence, and knowledge they need to navigate their child’s educational journey. Rooted in my experience as a teacher and early childhood director, I know the importance of parents feeling supported in moments that can feel overwhelming—like reading through IEPs, preparing for school meetings, or navigating new learning challenges. We focus on consulting and coaching, helping families feel prepared and confident so they can be the best advocates for their children.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every parent feels equipped to advocate for their child, every child has access to the support they need, and families and schools work as partners in creating positive learning experiences.

What We Value

  • Partnership – Walking alongside families as trusted allies

  • Advocacy – Ensuring every child’s needs and strengths are recognized

  • Confidence – Helping parents feel prepared and capable in every situation

  • Growth – Supporting both academic skills and social-emotional development
